MAY 1, 2016

May 24, 2016 - The NEHC Jr. Leadership Committee announces the location of the first annual NEHC Horseless Horse show to be held at the Fieldstone Show Park in Halifax, MA on Saturday, August 27th, 2016.  Fieldstone Show Park, located just 28 miles south of Boston, is home to 4 weeks of "AA" and 4 star rated USEF competitions as well as the MHJ Medal Finals, the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament and the NEHJA Derby Finals.

Taking place on the derby field, the horseless horse show will start right before the annual Lobster Bake.  Riders can walk the course from 5:30 - 6:15. The first class will start promptly at 6:30pm.  The Lobster Bake, sponsored by Purina and Hanson Grain, is a free dinner offered to all MHJ medal qualifiers.

"We couldn't be happier about Fieldstone showcasing the first annual NEHC Jr. Committee horseless horse show. This could be the start of something big," said Tamara Johnston Co-Chair of the NEHC Junior Committee.  "We are encouraging everyone to participate in this fun event.  Whether you are attending the Lobster Bake, are a Summer Showcase competitor, a rider from the New England area, friends/family of the competitors or just a horse-lover in general, we would love for you to come out and have fun with us on Saturday night."

Four classes will be offered including Baby Jumpers (ground poles - individual scoring),  Low Children's Jumpers (1' with 6" spreads - individual scoring), High Children's Jumpers (2' with 1' spreads - individual scoring), and the feature class of the night, the NEHC Nation's Cup (2' with 1' spreads - 4 riders to a team).  Team uniforms in the form of t-shirts, polos, matching outfits, etc. are allowed and more importantly are encouraged - participants should get as creative as possible. Team signs and big crowds of support are also allowed. Each class will run in speed format.  In the Nation's Cup each team will go one at a time passing a baton from one rider to the next. The team will be scored on total time for all four completing the course. Fastest around with the least amount of faults wins. Jumps will not exceed a height of 2'.

The NEHC Jr. Committee will be creating a program for this event. The group will be looking for title sponsors for each of the four classes as well as corporations, barns, trainers, and friends to place an ad in the program.  For more information on the NEHC horseless horse show and how to become a sponsor please visit .
